Janet Strong is an RN who worked in the Perioperative Department for over 30 years where she was an educator, scrub, circulator and orthopeadic coordinator. She is currently employed by STERIS Corporation as a Clinical Education Specialist. In her role, she provides education and clinical guidance to sterile processing, operating room, endoscopy and Infection Preventionists to achieve best practices in sterile processing and infection prevention. She assists with process assessments, wet pack solutions and general troubleshooting of products and equipment. Janet also contributes to the curriculum development of education programs for STERIS.
Janet is a member of AORN (Association of periOperative Registered Nurses), APIC (Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology), HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association), and SGNA (Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates), ASQ (American Society for Quality). She has been published in Healthcare Purchasing News and Process Magazine and is certified with many of these organizations.
Gianni Scarcello is a Safety and Compliance Specialist at Bevara Building Services, focusing on Facilities Management and construction. With a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) in International Business and History from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Gianni plays a pivotal role in championing safety and compliance policies within the organization. He oversees fleet management and ensures the integration of best practices into the corporate culture. Certified as a Red Cross instructor for various first aid disciplines, Gianni is committed to enhancing organizational preparedness and safety protocols.
Jennifer Kuhn, RN, BSN, CIC, is a certified infection prevention nurse who works for the Wisconsin Department of Health Services Healthcare-Associated Infections (HAI) Prevention Program, with a focus on ambulatory care. She has 18 years of experience as a registered nurse with the last 8 years in infection prevention. Jennifer earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing from UW-Oshkosh and started her career in pediatric nursing holding roles in acute care, neonatal intensive care, and leadership. With a desire to impact patients on a broader level, she shifted her focus to infection prevention. Infection prevention oversight has included acute care hospitals (pediatric and adult), critical access hospital, inpatient behavioral health, ambulatory clinics, and ambulatory surgery centers.
